Let me start this by saying that this show is $7 and all local.

Dan's is a nice place. Jimmy does a good job with sound. The "old guard" of Denton seem to especially enjoy Dan's. A lot of people enjoy a lot of things.

Sundress used to be called many, many other names. They even got a cease-and-desist once. They posted a new track on their website last month. It is much more creative and interesting than their name is.

I am having a hard time trying to remember a Manned Missiles show that wasn't at Dan's. I may have heard of one at RGRS once. Right now, they have this to say "Johny and his new indian DAD. http://plixi.com/p/81580830"

Skeleton Coast: A band self described as surf, with coast in the name. hmmmmm. i dunno, nothing too shitty going on here, but not exactly "experimental/new-wave/surf" as promised.


Bring weed to smoke out Land Mammals, they are really nice, and they would probably love it. and their music is fun.

Real Talk with Chris Medina

Long, long ago, I was commissioned to do a piece on a fascinating young man with whom many of you may be familiar: alleged Denton punk legend, Chris Medina. I was admittedly excited to be assigned to cover him. I got my ducks in a row, and sent him some questions regarding the pressing issues of these strange times, and the state of all things punk.

So initially, I sent him these questions I had developed via electronic mail (I can't do face to face; I sweat and vomit profusely in social situations). He went straight punk on my ass and denied me. I was hurt deeply, and then WSJR closed up shop, angry with me. I disappeared into obscurity.

MORE THAN ONE YEAR LATER......


I wasn't the only one to disappear into the forgotten corners of the cosmos. Medina was MIA as well.

Hello. My name is Dick, and I would like you to believe that I have an opinion. I disappeared for a while after We Shot JR left me. WSJR was like an after-school program for me. It kept me off the streets, mostly. Well, I wasn't homeless, but I hate living with my mom. She is soooo mean to me.
