Funk Robot Fridays
at molly maguire's pube
Obviously the theme here is funk... and robots, maybe.
Big J has something/everything to do with this. He is a genuinely nice guy, in my experience.
I do not know a thing about "We are dark clouds", or what that even means, but they were juxtaposed next to the phrase "all vinyl" as a parenthetical entry. records, y'all. Did you know they are popular again? I had no idea, never seen one in real life.
Well, anytits, the description promises "FUNK, SOUL, DISCO, HIPHOP, and House
Basically ALL Things FUNKY!"
I'll believe it. BUT, they also claim to have drink specials. Since this is in Dallas, that doesn't mean anything.
NOT FOR YOU?
I heard there was a keg party on Congress in Denton tonight........ shhhhh.
UPDATE
UPDATE
Know what? i 4got bout sum stuff LOL
Sundress / Manned Missiles / Skeleton Coast / Land Mammals / Westboro Butchers
at Dan's Silver Leaf in Denton
Let me start this by saying that this show is $7 and all local.
Dan's is a nice place. Jimmy does a good job with sound. The "old guard" of Denton seem to especially enjoy Dan's. A lot of people enjoy a lot of things.
Sundress used to be called many, many other names. They even got a cease-and-desist once. They posted a new track on their website last month. It is much more creative and interesting than their name is.
I am having a hard time trying to remember a Manned Missiles show that wasn't at Dan's. I may have heard of one at RGRS once. Right now, they have this to say "Johny and his new indian DAD. http://plixi.com/p/81580830"
thats from their twitter AND their myspace, at the same time.
Skeleton Coast: A band self described as surf, with coast in the name. hmmmmm. i dunno, nothing too shitty going on here, but not exactly "experimental/new-wave/surf" as promised.
Bring weed to smoke out Land Mammals, they are really nice, and they would probably love it. and their music is fun.

This is some kind of crazy dub-step house party with a cover charge and booze. They say that your $2 cover will finance a forthcoming record. I am not going to list every dj/performer. people who like dubstep will probably go to this no matter who's playing/spinning.
i hope i didnt 4get nuthin this time
You can always let me know where I went wrong.
